Diane Wilson from Broughton, Northamptonshire, wrote to me enclosing this picture which shows part of the old Elm tree on the right..
"Have read your Ramsbury Village Page on the net with great interest. My grandparents lived at 2 Oxford St and I spent a lot of time there as a child, especially during the war.
"If you are interested I have a few photos of the village from early this century - one attached to whet your appetite - one of the others shows the famous tree even better."
Diane has now sent me lots more pictures, so I've put them together into a gallery. If you recognise any faces in these pictures, please let us know. We can add more captions as we find out more about the pictures.
